    The Director of Logistics and Warehouse Operations is responsible for providing direct leadership to the all logistics, distribution and transportation operations.  The position will also provide strategic direction for these areas for branch warehouse and kitchen and bath store operations.  The Director interfaces with stakeholders and collaborates with a variety of other functional areas in order to deliver program and company results that achieve business goals and objectives. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer for Distribution.

    Responsibilities

    • With the General Managers, lead the company for superior warehousing and delivery services
    • Ensure efficiency, dependability and consistency within the department across all locations
    • With the General Managers, prepare, submit for approval and oversee implementation of departmental budgets
    • With the branch managers, select, evaluate, develop and mentor warehouse and delivery managers and departmental staff
    • Promote equal opportunity and affirmative action employment practices
    • With general managers, set and clearly communicate accountability parameters for department members
    • Develop and distribute specifications and pricing for all delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment
    • Identify, record and reallocate underutilized or unused distribution assets including vehicles, racking or material handling equipment
    • Ensure accuracy of inventory
    • Ensure corporate compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations
    • Lead and be responsible for superior central distribution center operations
    • Select, evaluate, develop and mentor CDC staff for efficiency, dependability and consistency

    • Select, evaluate, develop and mentor any staff or contract carriers used

    • Participate in the development, physical layout and startup of new facilities
    • Drive compliance toward aesthetically pleasing warehouse space, both indoors and outdoors, at all locations 
    • Ensure the logistic operations of First Supply LLC are in accordance with the values, principles, vision, mission and policies of First Supply LLC and meet all legal requirements
    • Assist with the development of corporate financial and organizational policies and goals
    • Responsible for the communication, interpretation and implementation of the approved policies and goals within the department
    • Participate in outside professional activities that are advantageous toward enhancing the prestige of our corporation
    • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    • College degree required; Graduate degree preferred
    • Demonstrated experience in warehouse and logistics operations with progressive levels of responsibility
    • Experience managing and directing staff to achieve superior results
    • Ability to operate and manage successfully in a matrixed environment
    • Advanced computer knowledge and skills with the ability to develop expertise in First Supply LLC’s business and logistics software
