The Supply Chain and Operations Intern will deliver analysis and recommendations regarding inventory, warehouse, and transportation operations.  Participate in projects and initiatives that involve the use of technology and data to improve supply chain and operations performance.

Responsibilities

  • Report key metrics of inventory, product availability, warehouse, and transportation performance
  • With guidance perform analysis that can drive improved supply chain and operations results (availability, turns, excess, obsolescence)
  • Assist in work on the parameters that drive the ERP’s supply chain and operations planning
  • Participate in the analysis of warehouse performance, layout and product placement to assist on improvement strategies
  • Support supply chain and operations team when interfacing with branch network and external stakeholders
  • Actively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues from all locations
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager – Strategy and Projects

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials, or Operations roles
  • Growing understanding of forecasting, inventory planning, warehousing, transportation, and logistics concepts
  • Familiarity with the concept of ERP/MRP systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and an analytics focused approach
  • CPIM/CSCP/CPSM courses preferred
  • Satisfactory score on the Wonderlic Personnel Test and/or Caliper Assessment
  • Ability to read, speak, understand and write English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure
  • Attendance on a regular and consistent basis
